Camryn's 5 year check up

Camryn just had her 5 year checkup yesterday. She got her Kindergarten shots. She has had leg pain since she was about 18 months old. We have always just figured it was growing pains, but since it has been pretty steady for so long, the doctor did a bloodtest for vitamin D deficiency. She also said since we were already drawing blood, we might as well have her tested for anemia too. We should get those results in the next couple days.Cam's measurements - 36 pounds and 42-1/2" tall. LOL! She's yittle!

ETA: Camryn's test results came back normal. She was up for over an hour Saturday night/Sunday morning crying, having us massage her leg. We gave her Tylenol last night before bed, and she slept all night.

A cut above

Last night I was folding laundry. I found a pj shirt with obvious scissor cuts in it. I questioned Cam, and she swore it wasn't her. The conversation went like this:
Me - "Camryn, do you know how this happened?"
Camryn - "No. I have no idea."
Me - "Are you sure?"
Camryn - "It has been so long that I don't even know what happened. Really."
Me - "These look like scissors marks."
Camryn - "Look mom, they are on the inside of the shirt. I don't even know how to cut stuff like that. I am in preschool. I just know how to cut from the edge, like this" (shows me with her fingers scissors cutting in from edge of fabric)
Me - (starting to believe her) "OK. I just wanted to make sure you were telling me the truth."
Camryn - "Mom seriously, I didn't do it. It wasn't - OKAY I DID IT!"
Me - *trying not to let her see I was laughing*

She is really good at lying, until all of a sudden...WHAM...her conscience sets in.

Sisterly Love

Last night, Cailyn all of a sudden started grabbing at her diaper, and twisting it all around, and saying "my bottom itches" over and over again. She started rolling around on the ground, wrestling with her diaper, and got a panicked look in her eyes, and said, urgently, "change mine diaper, please!!!" I took off her diaper, and there was a bunch of specs of stuff in there. I couldn't figure out what it was. It looked like red, black, orange and white sand. I asked her what she had been playing with, but she said she didn't know what it was.

Awhile later, Camryn walked up to me with a guilty look and said "did you ever change Cailyn's diaper?" I said "yes" and she started laughing and said "was there anything in it?" and I said "some specks of something. Do you know what it was?" She kept laughing and said "I was wondering when you were going to find the spices I put in there!"

The little stinker! The girls helped me season the steaks for dinner, and Camryn put some Steak rub in Cailyn's diaper. Poor Cailyn! Her little bottom had been exfoliated by spices.
